Page 1 of 3 Christmas is less than two weeks away! Are you STILL having trouble deciding what to buy as a gift for the anime figure collector? Here at NAF, we know figures, and we're happy to play Santa's elves and provide suggestions.
The way we'll organize these suggestions is by price: under $25 (value products), $25 and over but less than $50 (mid-priced products), and $50 and over (premium products). The Value Products are figures that are nice and affordable. The Mid-Priced Products are generally bigger but still won't break your wallet. The Premium Products are higher priced, but provide an extra "wow" to the lucky recipient. Value Products: Consumers have a lot of choices when it comes to affordable anime figures. Kaiyodo has really made a push to capture this market with their introduction of Revoltech action figures this year, and their continuation of the Mon-Sieur Bome pvc figure collection. And we at NAF have written extensively on a number of these releases. In addition, there have been a number of recent figure releases for popular anime shows like Bleach and Naruto.
The Bleach Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki Twin Pack from Toynami features two of the most popular characters from this hit anime show. With a SRP of $14.99, you're getting two figures for the price of one!
Mattel is entering the anime figure scene with its Shonen Jump's Naruto action figure lineup. Tornado Attack Sasuke Uchiha and Premium Sculpt Naruto Uzumaki are great examples of the kinds of figures available from Mattel. And the best part is that each one retails for under 20 bucks! Square-Enix really delivered the goods! The long awaited Kingdom Hearts Formation Arts Vol. 2 just hit the retailer shelves last week, in time for the holidays. Talk about cutting it close!
The first figure in this series, Cloud Strife, is undoubtedly the best in the lineup, and the most sought after. And at SRP of $14.99, it's really light on your wallet.
For a popular group of manga artists, CLAMP really doesn't have much available in terms of anime figures from their works. The one notable exception, though, is Chobits. The Chobits Talking Sumomo Action Figure from Toynami is the perfect novelty for the CLAMP fan. The figure is cute, and yells out a number of memorable phrases from the anime show. At a SRP of $24.99, what more can you ask for? |
