The popularity of Type-Moon's character creations have certainly reached a boiling point, as now even characters from a fighting game are being released as pvc figures.  Step aside, Street Fighter and The King of Fighters!  Melty Blood is stepping into the bout!

Melty Blood Series 1 Arcueid Brunestud 1/8 scale PVC figure features the fan favorite vampire princess in a triumph pose, with her right hand forming a "V" for victory sign.  Arcueid is shown in her traditional clothes, with a dull white sweater, dull blood red skirt, dark grey stockings, and black shoes.  In keeping with her understated personality, Arcueid has a small, sweet smile on her face (pic 2).  With wind blowing from her left, the skirt is shown blowing back (pic 3), and strands of her hair as well.

The figure is surpisingly tall, standing 8 inches tall on stand.  When we first took the figure out of the box, and placed Arcueid on her stand, we had issues regarding her stability.  You see, the sculptor had her leaning heavily on the left (pic 4), and you can't appreciate how far she's leaning left from a mere stock photo.  And given that her legs are kinda scrawny (pic 5), we thought there was a possibility that the upper body (pic 6), which is heavy and solid, will cause the legs to bend and lean to the left.  But having the figure sitting on our table for the past 2 weeks, we are happy to report that this release does not lean over.  Good job, SOL International!

The figure stand is a clear circle, 4 1/4 inches in diameter.  The three pegs on the stand fit perfectly into the soles of Arcueid's feet.  The words etched onto the stand, "MELTY BLOOD ARCUEID BRUNESTUD,"  are very nicely done, and identify the character to uninformed anime figure buyers.

Melty Blood Series 1 Arcueid Brunestud 1/8 Scale PVC Figure from SOL International is a nice release of Arceuid in an original and creative pose.  Fans of Melty Blood fighting game, and the Tsukihime anime show, will be delighted with this product.
